NewsTeam Rodrigo Clark 4 Years! It is so good to be here in Santa Barbara! I could have never imagined the level of support and response I got from the Santa Barbara County residents. It’s wonderful to see that all our programs are filled by the great people that live in the region. It feels like it was yesterday the beginning of my journey, when I taught my first Jiu-Jitsu class in SB. With only a few students but with the incredible support of two amazing people who believed in my work, Bryan Griffin and Steve Hoyt. I went further and now, four years later, with 2 Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu schools in the area, Santa Barbara and Solvang, I can say that my dream have became reality: To introduce the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu philosophy to this comunity and to provide them with all the benefits of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu life style. I believe my feeling was right. This community have so much to do with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ): an outstanding and innovative martial art that complements the great life style that is already enjoyed by lots of people that live in Santa Barbara County. I’m very proud and honored to have touched so many people’s life along this four years and I promised to keep working hard to make Team Rodrigo Clark - Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu of Santa Barbara & Solvang a reference of Physical Education, Well Being, Martial Arts and Self Defense. Our world class BJJ programs are tailored to serve all kinds of people, from different ages and background, who are seeking for a different sport that is worth dedicating, learning, and pursuing excellence. Believe me, Jiu-Jitsu is worth it! My whole life was dedicated to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The more I learn about the “Gentle Art”, the more passionate and curious I get about its roots and, most important, about how much it can benefit those who make it part of their lives! The Solvang community now has its own Jiu-Jitsu school. This project is a result of a join effort of the Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu-Team Rodrigo Clark and Solvang Sheriff's Department. The new school will offer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction for individuals, families, and Law Enforcement Officers and is being developed to become a reference for physical education, character development, self-defense, and world class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training at the communities of Solvang, Santa Ynez, Buellton, Lompoc and Santa Maria. The school will have its grand opening soon and is already attracting a lot of people from the region. The new school will be an additional training facility to all Rodrigo Clark Jiu-Jitsu students and a reference for all the people living in the Valley who are interested in a healthy life style and Martial Arts training.
